The Western and Southern Life Insurance Company (11 months)
Refined and executed a cohesive system of initiatives that integrates and coordinates sales, customer service, and customer-retention activities across the company’s three sales and contact channels: face-to-face (field) sales force, call center, and Internet.
Implemented a standardized customer-retention program for the company’s life products. The call center and local administrative staff worked together to support the field sales force, resulting in increased customer retention and additional time that the sales force dedicated to core sales activities.
Critically evaluated the roles and responsibilities of the field sales force in order to identify the ways in which the corporate headquarters can best support their pre- and post-sales activities.


Western & Southern Financial Group (2 months)
At the request of the CEO in conjunction with his role in the community as Chairman of the Cincinnati Business Committee, comanaged a research project on the adequacy and sustainability of the health care infrastructure in Cincinnati.
Findings were presented to a 20-member panel of medical professionals including CEOs of local hospital groups, the Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, senior executives of managed care organizations, and several prominent physicians and nurses.
Research was distributed to CEOs of the 20 largest companies in Cincinnati.
Research, analysis, and findings will guide public policy and corporate decisions related to Cincinnati's health care infrastructure.


IFS Financial Services (7 months)
Identified opportunities in the retirement market as part of an enterprise-wide team; team efforts will result in greater profitability for the enterprise by sharing common resources across business units and distributing existing products in new channels.
Produced the 2003 business plan outlining strategic initiatives that will guide the subsidiary for the next three to five years.
Implemented an asset retention strategy aimed at improving customer persistency and increased profitability.



Western & Southern Financial GroupeBusiness (3 months)
Expanded the distribution of existing eTerm products to the New York and New England markets via a wholly owned subsidiary, National Integrity.
Developed new Internet term life insurance products to be sold under the Integrity brand name.
Developed a customer satisfaction survey to measure and subsequently increase eTerm customer satisfaction, identify failure points and areas for improvement in the eTerm fulfillment process, and improve the "close rate" for eTerm products.
Analyzed primary and secondary pricing and market share data to make recommendations regarding the pricing and competitive positioning of the eTerm products.
