Fort Washington’s Core Fixed Income Strategy Capitalizes on Market Downturn
CINCINNATI, Ohio – Aug. 20, 2009 — The Core Fixed Income strategy of Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Inc. (Fort Washington), has outperformed its benchmark1, based on its 15-year track record (inception date July 1, 1994).
"We have a very disciplined investment approach that has fueled favorable long-term returns for the past 15 years and particularly over the last 18 months during the market downturn," said Timothy J. Policinski, CFA, senior portfolio manager and managing director of the strategy since he joined the firm in 2001. "This performance aligns perfectly with the strategy’s objective to outperform its benchmark over a full market cycle by using multiple strategies opportunistically. The volatility of market segments has allowed us to capture the best possible risk-return scenario," said Policinski.
In addition, Fort Washington’s Core Fixed Income strategy has ranked in or near the top third when compared against the performance of its peers2 since Policinski began managing the strategy in 2001. "The time is now for Fort Washington’s Core Fixed Income strategy because it continues to offer the potential for safety, stability and significant upside in times like these," Policinski added.
Along with Policinski, Fort Washington’s Core Fixed Income investment team comprises longtime Fort Washington veteran and corporate asset specialist Roger M. Lanham, CFA; asset specialists Daniel J. Carter, CFA (US Treasury/Emerging Markets); Rance G. Duke, JD (Emerging Markets/Corporate); Howard R. Lodge, Ph.D. (CMBS/Derivatives); Scott D.
