Western &Southern Financial Group's Life Insurance Member Companies Lead Nation in Adoption of Credit/Debit Card for Premium Payments

CINCINNATI — June 19, 2012 — In April 2001, Western & Southern Financial Group (Western & Southern) life insurance member companies became the first in the nation - and remain some of the few - to accept credit and debit cards for premium payments of life insurance policies held by their policyholders.

"Today, payment by credit card or debit card is the preferred method by many individuals," said Bryan C. Dunn, president of W&S Agency Group, Western & Southern's field agent sales operation for member company Western & Southern Life. "Our goal has always been to make it as easy and as convenient as possible for our policyholders to make their premium payments."

While first-time payments can be made with either a credit or a debit card, Western & Southern also gives its policyholders the option to make recurring payments with their credit cards. "There are situations when a policy may lapse because the policyholder forgets to make the premium payment by the due date. This service removes that risk and adds a level of comfort for our policyholders knowing they won't miss a payment no matter how busy life gets," said Jim Vance, vice president and treasurer for Western & Southern. "This is a convenience we have delivered to many policyholders since 2001, well ahead of today's trends and our peers and competitors nationwide."
