Ride Cincinnati announced a historic $2.1 million fundraising total supporting cancer research, education and care across Greater Cincinnati, marking 2025 as the organization’s most impactful year to date.
The milestone was unveiled Jan. 13 during a gathering of community leaders, nonprofit partners and advocates hosted at Cincinnati Cancer Foundation’s new office in Rookwood. The event celebrated the inaugural class of Ride Cincinnati Grant Award recipients, with rider-raised funds supporting 27 local hospitals, nonprofits and community programs throughout the region.
A longtime partner of Ride Cincinnati, Western & Southern has been a primary sponsor since its inception in 2007, with its associates actively engaging through volunteering, fundraising and riding – reinforcing the company’s culture of collaboration.
“The continued work of the Cincinnati Cancer Foundation is furthering our collective vision to make sure that the Greater Cincinnati region is the safest place in the world to face a cancer diagnosis,” said John F. Barrett, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Western & Southern Financial Group.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of collaboration in driving progress, a defining characteristic of Cincinnati’s health care and nonprofit community.
“Ride Cincinnati is part of CCF’s larger mission to support a multitude of cancer initiatives throughout the region,” said Dr. William Barrett, founder of Cincinnati Cancer Foundation Inc. “We are pleased to be awarding these grants to incredible organizations that are making a tangible difference in the lives of cancer patients right here in our community.”
Earlier this year, a new partnership with the Cincinnati Cancer Foundation was announced. This strategy aims to widen Ride Cincinnati’s impact across Greater Cincinnati’s extensive network of cancer nonprofits and healthcare systems.
As Ride Cincinnati continues to expand its reach, Western & Southern remains committed to standing alongside community partners united by a shared goal - improving outcomes and quality of life for patients and their families across Greater Cincinnati.
