Hi, I'm Cris Collinsworth and I'm here to remind you of three strong points to keep in mind when you're drafting your financial game plan.

Second is industry ratings. The insurance companies I'm talking about are proud of their industry ratings, such as an A+ from A. M. Best and a remarkable 96 out of a hundred Comdex ranking.

Third, and just as important, is consistency. Consistency that comes from steady deep-seated conviction in our products and services. You just can't beat this combination.

Our Strength

Strength: it comes in many forms then from some places you might not expect. Let's look at a few.

A Story of Long-Term Progress

Western & Southern was a traditional life insurance company for its first hundred years.

It was founded here in Cincinnati.

It's run by Cincinnati-based people.

It's well known in the community.

We would sell these weekly premium policies where people would leave the money on their kitchen counter.

We look at as a hometown company for sure. Western & Southern has been around since 1888.

It's evolved over the years from a small regional firm to a Fortune 500 company offering a variety of products in risk management.

We have over 4,000 employees, 66 billion of assets, but we haven't in any way lost sight of our roots, and that is protecting Middle American families.

Our customers have a real need to generate income during retirement which is now longer than ever. So, our products and services essentially allow the consumer to meet those needs.

Innovation is very important to a company like Western & Southern.

You have to have something that is going to have the advisors look our way.

We were well on our way to developing a new product in 2013 when we started talking to Goldman Sachs.

Goldman Sachs has always been front and center with us. Over the years we've always turned to Goldman for advice.

We have a long-standing relationship behind the scenes.

But this is the first time we worked with them on a direct offering. What's been really amazing about this collaboration is the way we've brought together two organizations from seemingly very, very different places.

You have two companies that have been over 125 years in their respective businesses and together we provide a very powerful package.

This was the first time Goldman Sachs featured an index in an insurance company's product.

That was an exciting milestone for us. There is a large middle market that has need for retirement products as need for protection. You have over 10,000 people day retiring. If they invest in the market they cannot afford to lose. The product that we developed was designed to give clients very, very consistent investment return and protection through exposure to a broad variety of assets.

I really think that something special did happen when we came together. I feel like I'm seeing progress everywhere.

We've experienced job growth here within the company, but it's also progress for our customers. This organization is very much a part of the fabric of Cincinnati.

With respect to us it has been a source of great pride.

We value our relationship with Goldman Sachs the [same] way we do our clients...long term.

And we love the idea that they feel the same way about us.
