Western & Southern Celebrates Local Entrepreneurs

Western & Southern Financial Group •
Award winner
John F. Barrett, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Western & Southern Financial Group, helps honor and inspire local entrepreneurs as award namesake at the annual John F. Barrett Entrepreneur Vision Awards ceremony.

Presented by Western & Southern, the Entrepreneurs’ Organization of Cincinnati and Venue Magazine, the evening reception was attended by Greater Cincinnati area entrepreneurs and business leaders.

“Cincinnati entrepreneurs have a competitive advantage – they live in Cincinnati. The region has a long and proud history of innovation dating back to radio manufacturer and broadcaster Powell Crosley Jr. in the 1920s, machine tool companies in the 1950s and others that followed,” said Barrett. The network of resources entrepreneurs can access today is second to none. It makes the environment here ideal for entrepreneurs to learn, grow, prosper and propel our region forward.”

Todd James, chief data & technology officer at 84.51°, a retail data science, insights and media company, was chosen overall winner of the 2023 John F. Barrett Entrepreneur Vision Award. The company was among four winners recognized in the categories of Entrepreneurship in the Enterprise (winner: Todd James of 84.51°), Family & Privately Held Businesses (winner: Cody Rack, J&D Rack Excavation Company), Minority & Women Owned Businesses (winner: Sheri Scott, Springhouse Architects) and Start-Up Businesses (winner: Tony Uhrina, Premier Global Transportation). Each winner received a special plaque.

“Western & Southern Financial Group is passionate about this community,” said Barrett. “We welcome the opportunity to recognize entrepreneurs who truly embody the entrepreneurial vision and spirit that make Cincinnati a great city to call home.”
