The 116th Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race, one of the nation’s oldest and largest 10K runs, returns this year with thousands of runners and walkers expected to participate. Along with the signature 10K, race-day events also include the Chick-fil-A 5K and the Kids ProAmpac Fun Run. The event combines fitness, family and doing good for our community.

This year marks an exciting new chapter as FC Cincinnati became the new steward of the race, ensuring the cherished Thanksgiving tradition continues to grow for future generations. Pig Works will assist with race operations and course enhancements, including a newly expanded, certified course designed for a safer, smoother and faster experience through downtown Cincinnati. Both the 10K and 5K courses are now officially certified, marking a major milestone in the event’s evolution.

Additionally, for the first time in its 116-year history, participants will receive finisher medals – a lasting keepsake recognizing every runner and walker who takes part in Cincinnati’s Thanksgiving tradition.

The race continues to benefit numerous charities across the region, including the Alzheimer’s Association, Barrett Cancer Center at UC, Big Brothers Big Sisters, FC Cincinnati Foundation, Girls on the Run, Roger Bacon High School and Young Life. Event proceeds provide vital support to these organizations, strengthening their impact across the community year after year.

Western & Southern has proudly served as title sponsor of the Thanksgiving Day Race since 2013, underscoring its commitment to tradition and community.

"As the title sponsor of the 116th Thanksgiving Day Race, we are honored to be part of a tradition that brings generations together in celebration of health, community and gratitude,” said John F. Barrett, Western & Southern chairman, president and chief executive officer. “This race is more than a run; it’s a reflection of the spirit that defines our city, and we’re proud to support an event that inspires thousands to start the holiday with purpose and joy."
