New details were unveiled for the 2026 Western & Southern/WEBN Fireworks, the 50th anniversary of Greater Cincinnati’s signature Labor Day weekend tradition.

John F. Barrett, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Western & Southern Financial Group, joined leaders from iHeartMedia and Rozzi’s Fireworks aboard the Belle of Cincinnati BB Riverboat to preview this year’s milestone show, which is designed to deliver the most expansive riverfront experience in the event’s history.

Scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 6, the show will feature a second barge zone west of the Taylor-Southgate Bridge, building-integrated effects along the riverfront, and a second fleet of drones, among other surprises. Together, those elements are intended to create a broader, more immersive production that can be experienced from both sides of the river.

“For generations, this event has brought our region together for the unofficial close of summer in a way that feels uniquely Cincinnati,” said Barrett. “As we celebrate the 50th anniversary of this tradition, we’re proud to support a milestone show that honors its history while creating an unforgettable experience for the community.”

Joe Rozzi of Rozzi’s Fireworks said the creative vision for this year’s production is to make the riverfront feel more immersive than ever.

“We’ve designed this year’s show like a theater in the round,” said Rozzi. “The idea is to surround the audience with the experience, using the river, the skyline and multiple launch points to create a show that feels bigger, wider and more connected to both sides of the river.”

Beyond the show itself, the event is expected to generate meaningful economic activity across the region  around $25-30 million for local hotels, restaurants, attractions and small businesses. The fireworks also support fundraising for local families through the Rubber Duck Regatta, benefitting the Freestore Foodbank.

“One of the reasons this event means so much to our community is that it brings people together, supports our regional economy and helps fund important work for families in need,” said Barrett.

Additional event details, viewing information and programming updates will be shared in the months ahead.
