The 117th Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race returns on Thursday, Nov. 26, with more than 11,000 runners and walkers expected to participate in one of the nation’s oldest Thanksgiving Day races.

Race-day events include the signature 10K, 5K and the Kids ProAmpac Fun Run, offering opportunities for participants of all ages to take part in this longstanding Cincinnati tradition. The event brings together fitness, family and community while providing a meaningful way to kick off Thanksgiving Day.

What’s New for the 2026 Thanksgiving Day Race

FC Cincinnati continues to serve as steward of the Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race, helping carry forward the longstanding Cincinnati tradition. Pig Works will once again support race operations and course enhancements.

New for 2026, participants can expect updated 10K and 5K courses through downtown Cincinnati, along with a staggered start designed to enhance the race-day experience for runners and walkers.

Supporting Cincinnati-Area Charities

The Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race also supports numerous charities serving the region, including the Alzheimer’s Association, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Cincinnati Cancer Foundation, FC Cincinnati Foundation, Girls on the Run, Roger Bacon High School and Young Life.

Event proceeds help these organizations advance their work throughout the Greater Cincinnati community.

Western & Southern has proudly served as title sponsor of the Thanksgiving Day Race since 2013, continuing its support of an event that has brought generations of Cincinnatians together on Thanksgiving morning.

“As title sponsor of the 117th Western & Southern Thanksgiving Day Race, we are proud to continue supporting a tradition that has brought our community together for generations,” said John F. Barrett, Western & Southern chairman, president and chief executive officer. “Each Thanksgiving, thousands of runners, walkers, volunteers and families come together to celebrate community and connection. It’s a special Cincinnati tradition, and we’re honored to be part of it.”
