The Cincinnati Open tennis tournament returns to Cincinnati on Aug. 5, ushering in a bold new era of growth, tradition and fan experience. Recognized as one of the top ATP Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 tournaments, the Cincinnati Open is back with an expanded schedule, larger player field and a newly renovated venue.

Leading the tournament’s transformation is the expanded 14-day schedule – up from nine days in previous years. The longer program accommodates the men’s and women’s singles fields growing from 56 to 96 players.

Complementing the longer schedule is a renovated tournament site, which doubled in size from a year ago after offseason construction. The new site offers improved amenities, a new fan zone and a more immersive viewing experience. These upgrades reflect a commitment to deliver world-class tennis while honoring Cincinnati’s unique hospitality.

“The Cincinnati Open has become a cherished local tradition and a powerful showcase for our region,” said John F. Barrett, Western & Southern Financial Group’s Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “The tournament’s expansion and site renovation promise to make this year’s event truly exceptional. We commend the team at Beemok Capital for their leadership and vision, and for further strengthening the event’s economic and cultural impact on Cincinnati.”

This marks the event’s 126th year in Greater Cincinnati, making it the nation’s oldest tennis tournament still played in its original city. The tournament’s longevity speaks to its deep roots in the community and its ability to evolve with the sport.

“We view the growth of the Cincinnati Open as a true transformation of the event that will elevate the experience for our fans, players and partners,” said Tournament Director Bob Moran. “The added days will help players compete at their peak due to additional rest between matches and will give our fans more opportunities to see the world’s top tennis talent in more matches, practices and special experiences across more days on-site.”

Western & Southern Financial Group served as the tournament’s title sponsor from 2002-2023, then transitioned in 2024 to allow for wider corporate support. Today, W&S is one of the event’s six cornerstone partners, joining Credit One Bank, Great American Insurance Group, Procter & Gamble, Fifth Third and Kroger.

This year’s tournament runs from Tuesday, Aug. 5 through Monday, Aug. 18.
