Western & Southern Financial Group and its Talent Development team are among only 66 organizations in the world to win the 2020 ATD BEST Award. The team ranked No. 12, moving up 41 spots from 2019, and was acknowledged with the award via video from ATD on June 30.
The award recognizes organizations that demonstrate enterprisewide success as a result of associate talent development. In a detailed application, Western & Southern demonstrated excellence in multiple aspects of talent development and the ability to get results by using talent development as a strategic business tool. The judges evaluated the extent to which:
- Talent development has an enterprisewide role.
- Learning has value in the organization's culture.
- Learning links to individual and organizational performance.
- Investment is made in talent development and performance initiatives.
In a news release, Tony Bingham, ATD president and chief executive officer, stated that the 66 organizations recognized "are driving impact and solving business challenges through talent development practices, and they are doing it in innovative ways. Senior leaders in these organizations understand the critical strategic role learning has, and they are committed to investing in the growth and development of their people.”
