One of my initial attractions to Western & Southern was the fact that it’s been around for so long. It’s been there for 135 plus years now, and I knew it could be the place where I could grow, the place where I could continue to learn. It’d be the place where I could have a career. Not just a job.
Hi, I’m Gage Schultz. I’m an advanced senior financial analyst at Western & Southern Financial Group. I’ve been at the company eight and a half years. I started as an intern and I’ve been here full-time seven years now.
I was very excited that I got to start my career here, and then watching it transform over time has been amazing. Western & Southern has been the place that I started at right after graduating college. It’s been the place where I’ve been to, you know, get my first home, get married. It’s been a part of all of those things along the way. It’s really helped provide all of those different opportunities. It’s been this huge security blanket for me to be able to know that I have this steady thing that’s going, I have this opportunity that isn’t going away. I have people that are counting on me and that's going to allow me to continue to do all of the other things that I want to do in life.
The words of wisdom that I would tell one of my best friends if they started here tomorrow would be, “buckle up.” Like you’re going to get so many different opportunities here. You’re going to have anything that you could have wished for as far as opportunity here. Like, I know I just said that twice, but it’s so true. There’s not going to be a shortage of things to do. You can fill every single day. You can find that fulfillment and it’s going to go by quickly. I know it surely has gone by quickly for me. Every single year I’m like, gosh, it was so fast. What happened? So, I would say “buckle up.”
